Congratulations are in order for

Congratulations are in order for Norah Jones. She won every Grammy she was nominated for. That comes out to a grand total of eight Grammys–five for herself and the other three for one of her songwriters and for her engineers. It’s notable that Blue Note signed her for her first album. The label the owns the catalogues of such jazz greats as Miles Davis and John Coltrane should give instant street cred to any of their artists. On a side note, Norah performed some amazing vocals on two tracks on labelmate Charlie Hunter’s Songs from the Analog Playground.

Blue Note is releasing Norah Jones’ Live in New Orleans DVD tomorrow. The Blue Note site mentions that she will continue to tour this year and will be making an appearance at Ravinia this year. I’m sure that show’s going to sell out fast (in the pavillion and the lawn). I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the Ravinia schedule. Hopefully, perennial favorites Perlman and Ma will make appearances this summer, also.
