“Rip, Burn, Respect” This is Gateway’s idea of an advertising campaign? I just saw it in a television commercial. As if it weren’t bad enough that Gateway laptops now look suspiciously Powerbook like. Now, they’ve co-opted Apple’s “Rip, Mix, Burn” advertising campaign.

Chicago celebrates its 166th birthday. This article mentions former Illinois Poet Laureates Carl Sandburg and Gwendolyn Brooks. I just heard a piece on WBEZ calling for Illinois to name a new Poet Laureate. Illinois has been without a Poet Laureate since the passing of Gwendolyn Brooks in 2000.
