Here’s a TIME article about Liz Phair’s recent pop turn: TIME.com: Liz Phair Makes a Pop Play — Jun. 30, 2003 It, like pretty much everything else written about her lately, examines her quite unexpected foray into the teeny bopper pop arena. I don’t know if I’m going to like her new album, but I’ll probably buy it anyway as a long time Liz Phair fan. Yes, even though she left Chicago for Los Angeles. At least Billy Corgan, another Chicago native, is still making great music with Zwan. I also recently saw that Nash Kato, formerly of Urge Overkill, is still playing in the Chicago area.

Liz is also interviewed in the latest issue of GQ. I have yet to read it. But, I must say that I am intrigued by the pull quote that accompanies one of her pictures that reads: “Every woman wants a marine. Because they’re noble and they can protect you. That’s an alpha male, baby.” That definitely does not sound like the Liz Phair of yore. Oh well, maybe it does sound like a whitechocolatespaceegg, post marriage and motherhood Liz..
