Pray for this man
This picture of the Cubs fan who tried to catch that foul ball in the eighth inning is at the top of Yahoo!’s most emailed list. Here’s a picture of him in the act. Too bad he can’t enter the witness protection program. Rod Blagojevich, the governor of Illinois, joked that he would put him in the witness protection program, but wouldn’t grant him a pardon. He had to be escorted out of the ballpark by security because they were afraid he was going to get lynched. I hope he lives to see another day. There are many people who are saying he shouldn’t be at fault because it’s probable that he didn’t see Alou coming for the ball and may not even have been able to see him from his vantage point. Read the Daily Herald article detailing the fan’s near death experience at Wrigley Field. This Smoking Gun page identifies him by name, where he went to school, and where he works. Apparently, he didn’t come into work today and his home phone is disconnected. I sure hope the Cubs win the series, for his sake.
