How does it end?
The big eye managed to annoy several million people this week when it preempted the end of CSI: Miami with a special news report announcing Arafat’s death. I could have waited five minutes for the 10 o’clock news. I don’t think it would have made much of a difference since reports of Arafat’s demise have been greatly exaggerated in the past. A good deal of people were under the impression that Arafat had passed when a member of the White House press corp, at a press conference several weeks ago, mistakenly informed President Bush that Arafat had died.
CBS admitted that it was a bit overzealous and should have run a crawl across the bottom of the screen as it’s competitors NBC and ABC did. CBS plans on running the episode again, in its entirety, on Friday. We’ll see if the TiVo picks it up.
