The streets have eyes

Office workers on their lunch-breaks whipped out their camera phones to catch the surprise appearance by the band whose album “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb” is released in Britain on Monday and in the United States on Tuesday.

It’s interesting how technology is changing our lives. I suppose I might have been inclined to do the same if I saw U2 rolling by on a flatbed. Of course, they’d probably be long gone by the time my stupid phone would be ready to take the picture. The picture would look like crap too.

Anyway, your chances of being photographed, videotaped, or otherwise recorded for posterity are pretty high now—regardless of how famous you are. If you’re in the Loop, chances are that you are being watched. I pass several cameras on my short commute to work. Open-loop.org is attempting to map all the cameras in the Loop. See if you are being watched.
